Pathways toward the Transformation of Sustainable Rural Tourism Management in Central Java, Indonesia

Managing sustainable rural tourism requires a strategic transformation adapted to local conditions, the complexity of institutions, and dynamics future changes. In addition, it must be inclusive. This paper presents pathways toward management in developing countries. The general objective is develop development strategies context tourism. specific objectives are policy best scenarios this context. study was conducted Kedung Ombo area Central Java, Indonesia: representative involving several districts other public organizations as stakeholders. Data analysis performed using MULTIPOL method. results show that an integrated considers interests all stakeholders, potential resources, infrastructure, human resources capacity would optimal policy. Priority programs implemented infrastructure development, strengthening private investment, governance, amenities, information communication technology.
